About me
Carrie Watson is the Library Operations Manager at Englewood Public Library in Englewood, Colorado. She specializes in keeping projects on track by keeping spirits high and helping folks stay organized. Her Master of Library Science (MLS) is from East Carolina University (go Pirates!). Carrie’s professional goals include working to implement her library’s first ever strategic plan (prioritizing empowering her staff and improving organizational effectiveness), teaching city staff about how to incorporate adult learning principles into their training materials, and advocating for more awareness of the Colorado Public Library Standards. A lot of her job includes coordinating with other city departments to push forward library operations and keep the library a welcoming and inclusive community hub. Personally, she spends a lot of time outside of work wrangling her four children, volunteering with her church, attending as many Nuggets basketball games as humanly possible, and reading at 5 am before the rest of her noisy household awakes. She’s recognized by her colleagues as a self-starter, a cheerleader, and a fixer-of-problems. If you have encountered a roadblock in a project, call Carrie, and she will help you chart a path forward!
